Having already done a EROEI in 1987/88 for my liquid CO2 idea, I admit to hypocrisy in calling EROEI a dopey idea, but it's only a dopey idea if I'm not doing it. Normally, money units are better than EROEI units, and "I can't be bothered doing that" units is another way of measuring value such as whether to go and cut wood in a forest, or flick on the gas heater. On a cold winter's night, I dare say the gas switch would go up in value.

Dirty water from a tall building is sporadic low volume in small pipes and might block the turbine, with not far to fall. A CO2 pipeline would be at least a 500 metre drop and maybe a couple of kilometres, with clean input and consistent flow rate.

25% extra energy is not much compared with other ideas for reducing CO2 into the atmosphere.
