The Dem's mostly owe this win to two people, Tom Delay and George Bush. Mr. Corruption and President Incompetence.

Random thoughts-

Really hope the Dems take both Montana and Virginia. If Lieberman ends up being the ultimate swing vote, deciding the fate of legislation, it could be a hallow Senate "victory".

Gridlock is usually great, but in this case there is a lot of harm to be undone.

My apology to the US voters... they "got it". Damn it took a long time!

Congress wasn't able to end Vietnam, and they won't be able to end Iraq. I still think the Iraq war will outlive the Bush term.

The FBI is pouring resources into an investigation of corruption in Congress. With the loss of Republican power, a lot of very ugly stuff is going to float to the surface. I think we are about to enter a very hard period of looking at our system and how it has been manipulated by the politicians. This election is just the beginning...

After they raise the minimum wage, the next thing the Democratic congress should do is produce an energy bill with real teeth. For the last 6 years the Dems haven't been able to bring any bills to the floor for a vote, so good ideas never saw the light of day; were never debated. Now they can; they better F'ing perform, right out of the gate.

This is a MANDATE!

John
