I seem to recall that the position of most people in 2000 was that manual selective recounts with workers divining voters' intentions was wrong.

I never said a recount was wrong, but the fraud perpetrated in Florida's selective recount was well documented, with democrat workers flexing punch cards with partially attached Gore chads to try to get them to fall out and carefully avoiding any disturbance of punch cards marked for President Bush.
