Caruso was electrifying in Crime Story, which shocked me as he seems comatose in everything else. He looks about 23 or so in it.

Only made it thru half an episode of CSI--too synthetic, to obviously a product of LA television corporate culture--souless.

Crime Story is very different. Many of the lead principals--actors and writers--were former Chicago cops and former Chicagoan thieves! The soundtrack was to die for.

Took place in Chicago and then Las Vegas in mid 60s. If you've ever seen Scorcese's Casino, then you should know that Crime Story is the template for that movie. Also, Michael Mann, who did the movie Heat, was the producer for Crime Story--it was in the tv show that he apparently first came up with the 'formula' for his own particular contemporary crime noir formula.
