The qualified candidates will join a team of scientists responsible for developing rapid immunodiagnostic tests used throughout the world by physicians, nurses and clinicians. R&D Scientist RECOMBINANT PROTEIN EXPRESSION We are seeking an individual with a Ph.D. and proven experience in recombinant protein expression using mammalian, insect or yeast systems. The qualified candidate will be proficient in recombinant technology and optimization of protein expression, including PCR, site-directed mutagenesis, RNA analysis, and expression vector construction and analysis. Protein purification skills, including FPLC/HPLC and experience in protein expression and purification scale-up and manufacturing requirements are preferred. The candidate will have excellent communication skills and have previously shown scientific independence and the ability to direct others. R&D Associate PROTEIN PURIFICATION This position requires a BS or MS in Biochemistry or an equivalent discipline plus at least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience. Duties will include purification of antibodies, native proteins, and recombinant proteins. Candidate must be experienced in SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and various chromatographic techniques, including affinity chromatography, size exclusion chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, FPLC and HPLC. Experience with glycoproteins and fermentation is also desirable. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written
communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with
minimal supervision in a team environment.

SR. BUYER QUIDEL, a rapidly growing biotechnoogy company located in the Sorrento Mesa area, currently has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Buyer. The incumbent will be responsible for supplier selection, development and management, as well as purchasing for selected commodities. This position involves heavy interface with outside vendors, and several internal departments. Requires a minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment that must include injection molding and capital equipment purchasing. Experience in Biotech industry a plus. Applicable Bachelors degree preferred. Individual must possess strong negotiation, analytical and interpersonal skills in addition to experience with on-line computerized manufacturing systems. |
