Not a very reasonable short or even medium term goal. Maybe if your talking over the next half century.

And we need to stop acting like asses.

It can be reasonably argued that pulling out of Iraq now, would be "acting like asses", we get people to support our vision, and then when things get tough we abandon them.

Just because the Soviet Union is gone does not mean we rule the world.

True, but we aren't acting like we rule the world.
