Frequently the argument has been put forth by providing a list of Democratic politicians who have served, and then providing a list of senior Bush administration officials, and prominent Republican members of congress who have not. That argument was posted on this thread. I believe multiple times. But it is true that there are so many posts on this thread that its easy to miss.

Before the term "Chickenhawk" started to get widespread used as an anti-Iraq war ad-hominem, a similar implied argument was made by Michael Moore in "Fahrenheit 9/11". He combined it with selective editing (for example including a part where a Republican politician didn't have a kid in Iraq, but dropping off the part where he mentioned his nephew in Iraq).
