The Queen:

This is an excellent movie. Helen Mirren gives one of the best performances of her career. But it's Blair that is really fascinating. Here's a guy that becomes absolutely seduced by the monarchy- and one wonders if this is a commentary (a sneaky one) on his relationship with Bush. Blair and the Queen have zero in common, yet he becomes almost obsessive about supporting her. Very weird. It made my husband so interested in Blair that he is going to read up on him. I wasn't THAT interested, but this movie is definitely worth seeing if you have any interest in the UK, the monarchy, the events after Princess Diana's death, and Blair. The period of time covered in the film is short- it begins with Blair winning as PM, and ends a short while after Diana's funeral.
