This is because you are one confused fellow who has not been paying attention to what I've been saying.

I've said it many times. I am a libertarian. It means the maximum freedom for all and minimum government intervention. The catch here is that we do need government to assure nobody, including corporations, arm wrestles or deceives others. The other catch is that for some things, government intervention is the most efficient and practical way to get the right thing accomplished. For example paying for a fire department is more efficient than forcing everyone to buy huge liability fire insurance. And I would not want my surgeon to have arrived at his position purely based on market forces. Government is needed to set some standards. It is not a black and white world.

Now on to your illusion that the Republicans are a party of small government. Take a look at budget deficit and national debt growth over the past 40 years (that would cover the period of service by every politician who is alive today) and tell us who has held smaller governments, Dems or Reps.

In fact, the Republicans not only expand the budget and government to hell, they even want to legislate morality and keep tabs on who has sex with whom and how and what is taught in science classes. How small of a government is that?

PS Do please inform us of what you find in the budget and debt under different administrations. It should be an eye opener to everyone but the blind.
