Well, I think you need to include some more news sources in your information gathering. I would recommend Chris Matthews; he's the toughest, most above-the-board one out there right now. I watch Olbermann, although he is definitely left, and O'Reilly and Hannity when have an empty stomach.
The story circulating in many circles, both right and left, is that Rummie lost the confidence of the top military echelon. You could make an argument that that is not a bad thing, but there it is. Does that make these military men 'disloyal'? To whom? Their primary allegiance lies with the United States of America, and they are of the opinion that Rummie was ruining the military and losing the war.
As time goes on, more and more sources are coming forward with proof that there really was a 'conspiracy' to denounce Clinton. This campaign of building a loyal base by targeting Clinton was a deliberate strategy to cement political power. Those involved have even bragged in recent years about how it was done. Again, widen your information net, and you'll catch some truth that is missing from the FAUX news sources.
As far as Clinton, he's gone. History will judge both Clinton and Bush, but in strictly looking at the side effects of their presidency, it looks like Bush is the loser. Sure, you could say that Bush was dealt a bad beat with 9/11, but it was his performance and decisions after 9/11 that cemented his spot as Worst Ever.
How fast can we build a ladder to get us out of this hole? I'm not particularly optimistic about that, but at least we're no longer digging. |
