Briefing's list of Individual Stock Coverage
With the quarterly earnings barrage two weeks off and interest rates back on the rise, the tech sector succumbed to another light bout of profit-taking in Thursday's session... While the declines are a little disappointing after the gains posted early in the week, losses have been orderly in nature and limited in scope... Consequently, once the earnings news starts pouring in look for the sector to launch another sizable up move... Gains won't be as robust as earlier in the year, however, given current valuation constraints... This is particularly true in the large-cap, high profile names.
Also disappointing has been the muted response to the Montgomery Securities Investment Conference. Presentations at this conference have not had the market impact they have at times in the past. But for the record, here are some of the companies on the schedule for tomorrow. Tech Data, Ascend Communications, Oxford Health Plans, WorldCom, Yahoo!, JDA Software, Micron Electronics, Zebra Technologies, and Manugistics Group. |
