Nolan,

Are you a SUN ISV.. We are at work.. SUN is an okay partner to work with.. but I gotta be honest, MS (maybe due to size) is a lot easier to work with.

Maybe it's becuase SUN wants to give everyone personal attention, but it's a pain in the ass when all I want is a tiny little piece of Info. With MS I call them, talk to someone, (they don't care who) and move on. Sun I have to call the rep, talk to him, if it requires access to a patch or something then you get an incident number.. BAH!..

I have respect for SUN (to some extent). Now netscape on the other I could go on about for month.

This is the company who's IPO went nuts. Their market capitial grew to god knows how many B$. This is a company that turned only a couple of M$ profit last Q.. correct me if I'm wrong but those are pretty awful numbers.

In addtion to all of that... are you saying MS and Netscape aren't at war?... Don't you think it is one of Mr. Gates' top priorities right now to squish netscape like a bug (I mean look at the deal with apple. The whole reason that came about was so that Apple would bundle MSIE as the default browser on the Macintosh.).

Now SUN and NS may not be at war yet, but NS is one of the companies pushing SUN to "free" Java and make it a standard (truely open). This is drive a rift between SUN and NS.

I think a large part of the problem with NS is they have poor management. It's the same thing with AMD. They are both decent companies, but their management and vision has to be changed/modified.

Steve
