A cantankerous self-described "Christian-conservative-libertarian-environmentalist-lunatic," The Times reviewer got that wrong. Salatin is a self described Christian libertarian environmentalist capitalist. Or so he says in the introduction to one of his books. But he may not disagree with the cantankerous part. <g> I bought two of his books when I visited his farm the other day. Michael Pollan wrote the introduction to one of them. I was hoping to meet the man, but he was away giving a seminar in Missouri. And he had just returned from Canada where he was at an ag conference. He's very much in demand these days! The woman I was speaking with at the farm said there has been a steady stream of pilgrims since the Pollan book came out. This could be the start of something big! Not much to see at the farm right now, but at least I got to see the famous chickenmobile. :) This is the farm's website. polyfacefarms.com
