GZ....you make a good point. I hope, really hope, that we are still in that period of time after the big game where all the emotion and frustration are still being played out.....and then calm and common sense returns. To use the sports analogy one more time, the democrats are still in the middle of the field wooping and yelling. They will eventually get into the locker room where (hopefully) the coachs will calm them down and focus them on the next game, actually governing - something they have not had to do for quite a while.

I am very, very encouraged by the return of James Baker and Mr. Gates to the leadeship of the executive branch, Baker in a de facto role with the Iraq Study Group and behind the scenes work...Gates as Sec. of Defense. They both served papa Bush well, and papa Bush remains the last President I had any deep respect for. This signals a clear turn to the more traditional republican philosophies....which I applaud.

Queen Pelosi will have her hands full. If you start to see the democrats complaining about her high-handedness or arrogance, that will be good also...she will be stamping them down and forcefully herding the cats into line.

The next few months will be fascinating. I'm all for giving both sides a chance to make this work better than it has. If they screw it up, then to heck with em.
