Yup.

Gates is more of the same. An aparatchuk who is willing to come to whatever conclusion his political masters want, and distort the facts to get there. In other words he will be tweedle-dee to Rummys tweedle-dum.

If there was a grain of intellect or honesty in the administration, we might see a reach for a respected Republican for SecDef.

Although this is a very small pool to choose from, Colin Powell would have been a home run here.

It is this inability to come to terms with political realities that will haunt Bush for the rest of his tenure, and may well result in Pelosi's eventual backing off of the no impeachment pledge at some point.

In fact, if Bush pushes hard in the next 2 months to cram thru much of his toxic agenda with the lame duck GOP Congress, it may be impossible for her to control an irate, newly minted Dem majority, come January.
