I said I can see how my response isn't a solution to the problem you see. But the question I asked was "Doesn't the part of my post that you quoted basically answer your question?". And you said "no". The question you asked was - "How about require half a year in a maximum security prison for every year served in federal office?". Obviously that was already answered by the part of my earlier post which you quoted - " also don't have a major problem with someone being a career politician. Certainly not enough of a problem to support making it illegal."

If I don't want to make being a career politician illegal than obviously I don't want to send them to jail.

If you prefer corrupt politician to limits on them, you and I disagree.

That's rather distorting the situation, both in terms of facts and in terms of what I said would support or not support.

You'll get corrupt politicians either way. You might get a few less if you pass term limits.

I didn't say I opposed term limits, in fact I said I might support them. I said I opposed putting people in jail over the issue, and I also said I opposed limits "in federal elected offices combined."

Term limits are a only a marginal solution to corrupt politicians. The difference between term limits for a specific office and term limits that applied to the total term in any and all federal elected offices, is even less of a solution to corruption. Its not reasonably to say that someone who won't support that extra step "prefers corruption".
