Whoever is elected President in 2008 will get the blame for the democrat 2006 recession.

Maybe, unless its short enough and starts early enough. If it starts soon, and is over soon enough for a solid recovery to have occurred by 2012 then the next president might get any blame (esp. if he's a Democrat).
