Dean had a LOT of luck going his way, but without his 50 state strategy, the Dems would have been in no position to capitalize. No question Dean got some breaks but he also put up some very fine candidates in some of the reddest districts. Darci Burner of WA state may not win her race and Scott Kleeb of NE did not win his race but they were both excellent candidates that I hope the Dems will keep in circulation. In fact, I was surprised at how many good candidates they came up with......and that doesn't happen just with "a lot of luck".
