Very interesting article, thanks. It's far too long to comment on and, indeed, I could have a lot to say but won't.

Since the article was written with the intention of encouraging increased US involvement in SA, it is my candid opinion that the US will find increased resistance to such involvement amongst all sections of the SAn population. Today, the SAn government is looking East, particularly to India, China, Russia and other non-aligned countries for closer relationships and, in my opinion, is moving increasingly further away from the West.
