The President is the administrator. It is his job to appoint people he thinks would be good. The Senate is then charged with promptly reviewing appointments and wither approving or rejecting. It really is not Senator X, Y or Z's job to tell the President who to appoint. If they want that job, they can run for the office.

Many democrat Senators have been heard to praise John Bolton for the job he is doing. For them to now hold up his appointment would be duplicitous. He has been doing an excellent job. I can see no reason why the President should be asked to nominate anyone else. Politicians who play the two edged game often end up getting cut.

If I understand it correctly the problem that democrats have with the electronic intelligence act is that we can surveil people. They have shown no propensity to negotiate on an act that would help defend our nation.

Please remind me how many terrorist attacks we have had in the US since 9/11. It appears that the changes that President Bush has made have helped protect this nation.
