Yes, we must defend Kerry. He botched a joke. Bush-Cheney botched a war. Kerry has never lied to us. So Kerry was smeared and cheated in 2004 and was't prepared for the magnitude of it. McCain was also smeared out of the nomination in 2000, CLinton was smeared into impeachment and Harold Ford was just smeared in Tennessee. But all these smears do not knock a strong man or woman down for long. Kerry is a fighter and he'll be back. Who knows, we may need him too. In any case we must defend him from phony smears and lies like the botched joke dirty trick. What Kerry meant to say was right on target. IF BUSH HAD STUDIED IRAQ AND DONE HIS HOMEWORK WE WOULDN'T BE STUCK IN IRAQ TODAY. Not funny, but bingo.
