"If Poppy's bunch is taking over, and there certainly are signs of that, Cheney won't be happy being sidelined. He certainly isn't going to take one for the team."

I think that has to be the biggest surprise for Poppy. Cheney was the one who was supposed to take Jr. by the hand and lead him through the thicket of international and Washington politics until he got his feet under him, or ( I'm sure Poppy thought ), forever.

Cheney was a giant disappointment for them. Who's idea WAS Cheney anyway? He was originally supposed to help Jr. select a VP, but then came up with his OWN name, then Rumsfeld, and they dragged in the little neocon cabal and marginalized Colin Powell.

When he came back with his OWN name for VP, they should have smelled the stench of a power-monger..
