The vast majority of religious people do reason through the scriptural morality that is laid out for them as a guide and try their best to interpret its practical application through their personal life's experience.

"And people can also choose to let their values be determined through obeisance to a particular religious dogma or leader."

There in you find the radical extremist, when that is done devoid of confirmation by a human heart that is attuned to life and circumstance.
