"There in you find the radical extremist, when that is done devoid of confirmation by a human heart that is attuned to life and circumstance."

It seems to me that all hearts are involved in life and circumstance. It is reason and knowledge that dictate what we are to attune to and with.

Feelings flow from interpretation and judgement. The people who committed 9-11 were not devoid of heart. They simply believed it was noble and good to do the work of their God. To them it was a case of having devout heart and acting with reason. They put a great deal of time and effort and detailed planning into the pursuit of excellence. If their premises were correct, then what they did was both reasonable and commendable. So the question is simply this: WHAT were their premises? And did those premises derive from a superstitious faith (unquestioned acceptance)--or is there indeed a rational basis for considering that God wants to kill people at random?

If the latter addresses a false premise (rather than a bad heart), then where does such a premise (that God wants to kill innocent people at random, or that certain categories of people are a priori NOT innocent)) originate? Do you know?
