"... then where does such a premise (that God wants to kill innocent people at random, or that certain categories of people are a priori NOT innocent)) originate? Do you know?
It is at a minimum a contradiction and more likely a corruption of terms.
If you begin with the standard descriptors ... Alpha and Omega, all powerful, all knowing, creator etc, you can not get from that to a wanting creature. The notion of a wanting creature only serves a purpose when there are resources to be accumulated, or obstacles to be overcome, power and authority to be increased, etc.
So, in order to declare a god that wants anything you must corrupt the notion that we started with and declare a being that is not complete or generally beneficent regarding the created. Once you accept that, you can corrupt the notion further to have a god that chooses, at random, regions and populations of the world to favor over others. Now that you have a god who is using supernatural forces to champion a chosen group you can corrupt the notion further to have the group getting permission to commit genocide or terrorist types of acts, so they and god can be happy with their acquisition of real estate, power, authority and conquests. We see human beings doing this. We might become extremely loyal to our local football team as a matter of regional pride and do everything possible to see them defeat all comers. |
