Just quit the "Bush-lite" talk. Unless you want to give government back to the rightwing. Hardline progressives are only about 20% of the country and concentrated in very blue states. They cannot win national elections. So they need to partner with their centrist brothers. The key is to keep the Bush-Rove-Cheney-Delay nightmare from ever happening again, and to not give the Hannity-Limbaughs of the world extra ammunition.
