The Wall Street Journal ran an OP-Ed piece today on how the government really couldn't lower drug prices by negotiating with the drug companies. I don't buy it at all. Every health consortium I have been involved with has had success in negotiating with providers when the size and buying power of the entity came into play. Just on generics the power of the government would be mammoth...and there would still be plenty of profit...just not quite as much for the drug companies. <g>

If the WSJ is weighing in on a concept like this, it has to be something with some bite to it for corporate America.
