But that covers so many potential areas of research. Who's to say where we continue and where we stop? Also, there are many people in the world who don't share our scruples. If they take advantage of technology that we consider too dangerous to delve into, will we be put in danger? Yes, the bomb is a terrible thing, but aren't we all glad we got it before the Nazis - and the Soviets?
