I agree with you that some environmentalists in the West have been too extreme, but in China there is NO environmental protection at the local levels at all! Some foreign as well as Chinese mining companies have caused plenty environmental hazard in Western/Southwestern region of China. The heavy pollution they left behind will take decades to clean up. Don't tell me you really believe in the so-called "self-regulation". Capitalists are capitalists. They will do any bad thing as long as they can get away with it! many foreign companies are big violators of Clean Water Act in China. Thanks for the documentary file, I will check it out.
