Israel is a monster that the US has created and it is going to be the one that will be difficult to reign in. Blair would want to involve the Iranians and Syrians in a comprehensive ME plan for peace. I predict that the US and Israel will prove to be the stumbling block for such an approach. The Democratic controlled House cannot dictate foreign policy but they can surely draw their lessons from what is happening with the economic blockade of Palestine to force Hamas' hand. They just need to cut off aid to Israel if they refuse to toe the line for dialoging a comprehensive ME peace. IMO
