I can't see the price of zinc collapsing when the LME zinc inventories are on pace to hit zero in coming months: kitconet.com

Basic supply/demand economics says the price can't collapse when demand exceeds supply, and with the dearth of sizable new zinc projects in the pipeline compared to mining reserves being depleted, it looks like there will be a crisis level zinc shortage for years to come. I tend to agree with the analyst who sees zinc going to $5-6/pound (http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=23008852 ) more than I see zinc ever returning to below $1, especially as the dollar declines.
