I think you can probably exclude 2007 from that big zinc question.

The 28 member country International Lead and Zinc Study Group
(www.ilzsg.org) claims :
"The extent of the shortage in 2006 is estimated at 354,000 tonnes, narrowing to 154,000 tonnes in 2007"

These folks are not "Buy zinc!" newsletter writers/pumpers.

This is achieved by providing a continuous flow of information to the market place on supply and demand developments in lead and zinc through the monthly publication of high quality statistics, and in depth economic studies.

Yes, they might be wrong.
Yes, they might have a hidden agenda.
Yes, the big money boyz might be setting them up.
....but you have to place your bets someplace, so I'm going with them & zinc.
