<You make a wild and reckless post of your own remarks and then attribute them to me--all the time ignoring that I pointedly gave evidence that the idea (that the 9/11 killers acquired their specific values from genes)--was unconvincing to say the least.>

Dude, you're the material reductionist. That means peoples minds ARE their material brains, bodies, whatever. So you seem to not really know what you've said in the past, or know what I'm talking about now. Maybe you can explain now idea's CAUSE violent behaviour?

<The "argument" that "genes made me do it" is no more convincing than the "argument" that "the devil made me do it".

First of all, I didn't argue that... I argued that all these things ultimately come from our human makeup (genes if you're a material reductionist... which you have repeatedly put forward on this thread as the only scientific truth). I'm simply saying (a step short of that) that people make up these ideas and therefore all the religious dogma you seem to want to compartenmentalize and put into a box and burn.

So you are completely missing the point if you think you can 'blame' and idea or dogma for something. You imply by thinking that religions "make people do things" that there are ideas that eminate from outside people that 'make them' do things. Horrible people make up or follow horrible ideas... ideas don't come and infest people... or do they?
