Our FFs were very wise people who foresaw many of the problems we have experienced as a nation. One that they foresaw and we have foolishly created was that of a central government with the ability to tax and spend as it wanted to without check from the people. They were quite intentional in keeping the federal government poor. Now we have a federal government that spends like a drunken sailor on shore leave.

To say that our first several FF Presidents were not term limited is neither true not false. I believe that President Washington made a choice and forever honorable Presidents were constrained by ethics to follow suit. There is not a whole lot of nuance between impropriety and the appearance of impropriety. In most professions both are punishable.
