First part yes... the brain creates it's own thoughts of course (if you're a material reductionist...). OTOH of course it holds information it learns elsewhere (experience), which helps froms the thoughts it produces.

HOWEVER, the information he's talking about is all linear languaging which is produced by other humans. That's the point, all his hated dogma is of the human, and further the behaviour he claims is 'caused' by it is simply human nature playing out what it does with information, yet he acts as if it's acting on it's own... as if divine. He's in denial of basic human nature...of where humans are in their evolutionary process... that's what I mean by "genetic", whether that is the correct usage or not. I am not implying that every little action or thought is attached to a gene, I've stated otherwise in our discussions as you know. In fact I've repeatedly stated the contrary as you know.
