Which raises a question. If Cal beats USC (and then Stanford next week), we are in the Rose Bowl. But....

If Cal loses to USC and beats Stanford, and USC wins out and makes it to the national title game (thus USC wouldn't go to the Rose Bowl), Cal would have the 2nd best record in the Pac-10, so does the Rose Bowl have to select the #2 team in the Pac-10, or are they allowed to select some non-Pac-10 team based on BCS rankings? In other words, does a Pac-10 team have to be in the Rose Bowl if USC plays in the national championship?
