My local ISP costs $ 30 a month for 100 hours of service and 10 megs of disk space for my home page, no censorship, fast access, full newsgroups, etc etc.
AOL costs I think $ 20 a month for 20 hours and something like $ 2 an hour after 20 hours for lousy slow access to the Web , no IRC , no disk space for a home page and major censorship. I spend about 60 hours a month on line so if I used AOL I would spend about $ 100 for AOL , actually probably twice that because it would take me twice as long to do what I do now online with AOL. Gee with all the money I am saving I can purchase one of those new low cost computers that you think will help boost the revenues of AOL because you think people who purchase one will have AOL as their on-line provider. And yes everything in the Library is free
which is exactly where I go to read magazines and newspapers. Hmmmm its AOL who is offering all those great so called unique perks on-line (magazines , newspapers, etc), not the local ISP's (they know most can be found on the Web and the Library!!). So maybe you should be letting yourself know this not me :-}.
