What makes you think Soros is a leftist? THis is a guy who's invested in Carlyle Group with all the top Bushies. He even bought GW's stake in Harken Energy, only to find out later that GW had ripped him off and stuck him with a lemon. It was called insider trading, but of course GW got away with it. So Soros lost 800 K. No wonder he opposes GW.

Not all those who oppose Bush are leftists. Or even political. The way I heard it is that Soros opposes the borrow and spend economy, and the neocon imperialism which reminds him of the old Soviet Union or Nazis. Whatever Soros's real thinking on this, he is anything but a leftist. He is a super capitalist, a ruthless one, though I think he does care about real democracy, real freedom and the good of the American people.

Bushies need to stop calling everyone who opposes them "leftists" or "far left". Indeed, many of Bush's more vocal opponents are honest conservatives, libertarians, traditional conservatives, pragmatic moderates and progressive centrists.
The leftist and liberal tag has been used to death and is often accurate. Also, there's nothing wrong with being liberal or even leftist. Some leftists are very good, thoughtful people, and they have been proven right on many issues.
