What is it you're trying to protect by sticking your head in the sand and claiming global warming doesn't exist, or isn't caused by the trillions of tons of greenhouse gases we've spewed in our relatively small atmosphere?

They are also predicting that sea life as we know it will be virtually gone in about 50 years. I can tell you that in my lifetime, I have seen sea life go from "infinite" to endangered, including some of the richest fisheries on the planet. And look at the forests as well. They're disappearing at an alarming rate and have been for a century or more. So why would you assume our atmosphere is immune from billions of people burning fossil fuels every day for 100 years?

Time for the GOP to quit protecting Exxon's reluctance to change and realize that our entire energy policy has to change dramatically, and it can't go backwards or involve exploiting and destroying some of our last wildlands. It has to involve doing the right thing, the responsible and sustainable thing. And if Iraq is not less enough, how many US troops will you sacrifice to wars for Arab oil before you wake up? And add the costs of all those wars to the price at the pump and you'll find the real price of a gallon of gas is far higher.
