It's time for a graph of H5N1 deaths. who.int

x = 10 deaths

2002......4...x
2003....32...xxx
2004....42...xxxx
2005....75...xxxxxxx
2006..153...xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

That is an interesting graph and is not showing a lot of signs of slowing down. If it was a CDMA sales graph, I would be thrilled. Especially as we still have a month of sales before Xmas and 2007.

A disconcerting fact is that in 2005, the death rate was only about 40%, but in 2006, death rate is about 70%. It's interesting that the death rate in 2005 was lower than 2006.

While the numbers are small, as people who die from cancer learn, to their regret, small numbers in the beginning can become large numbers in the end and it's the numbers in the beginning which define what happens in the end unless something changes to stop the compounding viral marketing effect.
