Broker houses and investment bankers have many conflicting interests, and individual clients welfare is way down the list. It's a mistake to assume they have some great inside information. THe key issues that will determine the long range sucess of a technology company like Cymer are just as obscure to them as they are to us. When it comes to predicting earnings , several academic studies have shown that analysts have a terrible record dealing even with SP500 type stocks, much less high tech stocks. Good investing...
