No. There are valid reasons why things have been warmer or cooler. For example, there is ample evidence that we would be deeper into a glaciation if it wasn't for the CO2 we have been pouring into the atmosphere. Unless you happen to believe that the Northern hemisphere started to warm a few decades after the Industrial Revolution started to increase the CO2 concentration due to some massive coincidence. Just like the massive coincidence of the cooling after a significant number of people were killed off by the plagues and the corresponding decrease in the clearing of trees and burning of wood and coal resulted in a drop in the CO2 of the atmosphere. Odd how these things happen... "There are better and more important reasons to reduce our consumption of oil than global warming. " Different argument. Same goal, so what is the problem? "it will still not be enough to reverse global warming. All it will amount to is a drop in the bucket." Let me get this straight. If it doesn't solve the problem in toto, it isn't worth doing at all? I know I didn't say that SUVs are the sole cause of the problem. They are a symptom, however. Around here, a lot of the students drive 4x4s. Now a 4x4 is a fine work truck with many uses. But they are tricky to drive and to use them to go to class and back seems a little nuts. Besides, most of the pin heads don't know how to drive them and back into my car about once a month. I know it is a 4x4 because the dent is about where the back corner of the bumper on those things are...
