>Why do medical marijuana advocates assert every pothead is "self-medicating"?<

Did I do that?

>People who want marijuana to be legal for medical purposes as a prescription drug would do well to separate themselves the recreational marijuana people.<

Are you sure that someone can't be both at the same time? Are you trying to say that it's only OK if you don't enjoy it?

>raises suspicion as to how sincere the medical advocates are.<

The medical arguement is so easy to make, it's simpler to go that route in a debate. Saying "no" to someone in medical need is monsterious and criminal. Once medical pot is allowed then there has to be made room for growing, wholesale distribution, transportation and retail sales. There is then very little left to get to total legalizaton.

>Are a majority of daily pot smokers really high-functioning doctors, lawyers, etc.<

I think that I've been able to debate with you somewhat well in spite of being high for almost every post.

>Re. comparisons of alcohol to pot:<
Personally I don't like to use arguements in those directions.

The only point I try to make if that area comes up is to postulate that they should be both treated the same. Or nearly the same.

>I think the best arguments for it would be:<

How about this one:

Every place they made it legal, consumption went down.
