nihil,
When I read a Dow Jones Online news last Friday today, I couldn't believe my eyes. For a little while, I couldn't calm down, because it happens in so called "free enterprise." I quote a passage from the news as follows.
"An executive at one PC motherboard maker Thursday said Intel put
pressure on his company to price its Pentium II boards at less than
$100, a difficult price to meet, to help stimulate that market. He
said Intel also informed his company it wouldn't fill an order for
one type of chip set unless the small company also ordered a
substantial number of an old chip set, whose inventory Intel is
trying to liquidate. 'Now they are really controlling our destiny in
term of production,' the executive said, refusing to be identified.
'We can't go on the record, because we really depend on their chip
sets heavily.'"
I sigh over small business unhappy fate(not include IBM) and I also disgust Intel business practices. You are a professor and I would like to hear your comments.

Best wishes

James
