No, that would probably be the majority opinion, but a minority might think that it was screwed up because of some other factor. If Rush thought that, then defending Rumsfeld would have been honest, and attacking him now that he's gone, deflecting the blame from other possible administration targets that are still in office, would be partisan and dishonest. I don't know enough about Rush's opinions or statements about Rumsfeld, to know one way or the other, I'm just pointing out the general standard you are trying to apply isn't reliable. Even if it does produce accurate results in this case (and it might, maybe Rush was lying before), that still wouldn't make it a useful or reliable standard.
