I think this is a really good change for Bond. I devoured the books as a teenager and it has been a long time since the picture in my mind matched the actor (based on the previews I've seen).

My earliest movie memories are getting escorted out of a theater by my dad at a very young age, and being told it would be many long years before I saw the inside of a theater again, and watching Doctor No at the local drive-in (with free mosquito coils provided by the house) as part of a Bond double-header.

Changing the game from baccarat to hold 'em poker was a great marketing move.
