>>>The first 100 days. The Dems should start off with the minimum wage and the AMT.<<<

That is what I think they will do. The AMT will be the "middle-income" tax cut. Several states have raised the minumum wage already so the federal raise seems like a safe bet. The final item would be to allow the federal government to negotiate some type of discounts for the Medicare prescription drug plan. As you probably know, this is done for Veterans' programs.

>>>Iraq is a lose-lose proposition and they should make sure it stays a Bush/GOP war and toast them for it.<<<

I agree. The Democrats should wait for a proposal from the Administration for a "new direction" in Iraq. After the Administration delivers another version of "stay the course" the Democrats can hammer them. So much for a "political gambit" disguised as a war on terror.

>>>Re: WMD search. The first hit I find is Aug 2002 . . . I'm reluctant to extrapolate . . . .<<<

I agree. Looking back to one source is not enough. There are many more surrounding documents to review and discuss for a complete picture.

>>>My primary objection to fast track is that Congress diminished their Constitutional authority and responsibilities.<<<

That is my problem with it too. My "pro" for fast track is that it can avoid a lot of political and unenforceable add-on provisions from a trade bill.
