The MCU phase 2 results were indeed positive, but I don't see how they're going to sell it for much money. Their drug is just vitamin B6. Some OTC drugs have been taken off the market when a prescription version has been approved, but they can't do that with a vitamin...everyone on total parenteral nutrition would get sick, for one example, if they didn't buy the drug off-label.

Now,some forms of vitamin D, for example, are sold without prescription as a nutritional supplement, while others are prescription. Same for vitamin B12. In fact, all forms of iv vitamins are prescription drugs. But there already exist iv formulations for vitamin B6. So MCU is just getting a label expansion for a generic iv drug. I just don't see this as a blockbuster....
