"Supply is a real issue today in CA. SanFransisco hired a guy to produce starter plants for the medical marijuana clinics.

The Federal government arrested him. During his trial, the jury was not allowed to hear that he had been hired by the city. After the trial eight of the twelve said they would have voted "not guilty" if they had known about it."

I wouldn't argue that this did happen, but I wonder HOW it could have happened. In any trial, a person is allowed to take the stand in his own defense, and regardless of any judge's order, could "let it slip" that he was hired by a local gov't. At worst, it would result in a mistrial. At best, it would get the facts of the case before the jury.
