In addition, FM-5 is both compatible with the existing constellation yet designed with newer, more efficient transmissions that will augment total capacity and thus additional audio channels, plus next generation data and video services.

Make no mistake -- I am not surprised that Sirius has found it has inadequate infrastructure to implement Hierarchical Modulation. Something they made a lot of noise about a couple years ago that they still aren't able to pull off because their satellites lack the power to do it. That's the only possible interpretation of this remark.

As I said, I'm not willing to argue these other points with you when you are unwilling to get yourself up to speed on the subject. Go do some homework and come back if you want to; but it is a total waste of time to argue with you on subjects you know absolutely zilch about. If you have another subject you know something about and want to talk about, go for it, but you've shown yourself to be ignorant about the competing satellite infrastructures so there is really no point (btw -- I don't claim to have all the facts on the subject, either -- and I am not an engineer -- but I can see what works and what doesn't, and I can figure out that Sirius wouldn't spend hundreds of millions to launch a fourth satellite if they didn't absolutely have to).
